The book is a powerful collection of 40 poems that unequivocally, unapologetically, and unflinchingly affirm, uplift, empower and celebrate them. With her debut effort, Marina boldly steps on the scene to announce her love, admiration, respect and esteem for black boys/men.
Yet, though the book was written to encourage and inspire black men/boys, it contains the universal message of love that transcends all, and speaks to all of humanity. Marina states, “It reminds us all of the fortitude, tenacity, and brilliance by which we were created. It is a celebration of God’s creation.” Each poem was crafted to speak to the God within and awaken the truth of who we are.
In addition to reminding black men/boys of the power they possess within, Marina believes her book can be instrumental in healing the relationships between black men and women, black men and their children, and shifting the way young black boys and girls interact with one another.
Marina has been commissioned to facilitate workshops for both private and public sector businesses and individuals and groups of all nationalities, races, sexual orientations and religions.
